We did it, we’re pregnant!!!

We did it, we’re pregnant!!!

We did it, we’re pregnant!!!

Its Wednesday morning, April 6th and my period is due.  Usually, I wake up and aunt flo is just there waiting for me, but not this time.  I woke up feeling hungover even though I haven’t drunk alcohol since Sunday. “Should I take a test?  I mean, I took one on Saturday and it was negative…”  These are the thoughts going through my head.  I opted not to take the test because I didn’t want to get myself disappointed.

Then I felt nauseous...

Ok, let me go ahead and pee in this cup one last time and get this negative test and wait for my period to make an appearance.  I walked into the bathroom, and it smelled soo gross.  Probably because I use the same cup to pee in and I stuff a paper towel in it to absorb the remaining urine. I pee in the cup, dip my pregnancy test in then pour the rest of the pee out and toss out the cup.  And I wait for the one line to show up.

I start to scroll Tik-Tok while I wait the 3-5 minutes for the negative test to be prominent.

There are two lines.

Insert multiple blinks and squinting to make sure I don’t have line eyes.  But I see it there, two lines.

Insert tears of joy and my husband begins to hide all items that I cannot take while pregnant including my ADHD medication.

The first person I called with my positive pregnancy test news was my bestie Jody because she has been routing for this baby since the day I had my Mirena removed.  Then I called a few more friends to let them know and let the feeling marinate that after almost 8 months of trying…. were finally having our baby!
